We only like to post sales when there is a valuable lesson to be shared, so don’t consider this “showing off” or anything cause it’s actually unfortunate what happened here😂
This is a 65 day old store that did $339,000 in the first full month, and was on track for about $900,000 month 2 (before factoring our BFCM influencers which would have pushed it over $1,000,000). However, one of the ad creatives was used was filled with 46 seconds of video that our content team shot, and a 1.5 second clip from some random online video of the product (that we thought was from a supplier. We were wrong). Anyways, the clip really tied together the video and highlighted a key feature, and our content team passed it along without letting the marketing team know it wasn’t owned by us (which is a no no).
Long story short, the Facebook Ad account got a DMCA claim which means everything was shut down until it’s solved, assuming it is. We did speak with the owner of the content and came to a super quick & easy settlement for the mistake. In theory the ad account should be reactivated, but Facebook support is as slow as a snail.
So there’s the update on that. Lesson here is make sure to create your own content, and if someone else is doing it, have some sort of filter between them and you posting it to verify it’s content 👍🏻
